Today, May 20 2020( Jestha- 7–2077 ) the government of Nepal approves new OFFICIAL MAP which includes Lipulekh , kalapani and limpiyadhura .India and Nepal were at odds after the Indian side issued a new political map incorporating Kalapani and Lipu Lekh on its side of the border in October last year. The tension between the two countries flared up lately after the Indian side inaugurated a link road that passes through the territory belonging to Nepal. according to the new map the new area of Nepal is now 1,47,491 square km which previously was 1,47,516 square km .The main reason that led to the dispute was :

Nepal claimed the river to the west of Kalapani as the main Kali River, hence it belonged to Nepal. The river borders the Nepalese district of Darchula in Sudurpashchim Pradesh province and the Indian district of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand state. The Treaty of Sugauli signed by Kingdom of Nepal and British India on 4th March 1816 locates the Kali River as Nepal’s western boundary with India. Subsequent maps drawn by British surveyors show the source of the boundary river at different places. This discrepancy in locating the source of the river led to boundary disputes between India and Nepal, with each country producing maps supporting their own claims. The Kali River runs through an area that includes a disputed area of about 400 km² around the source of the river although the exact size of the disputed area varies from source to source.

This Day will be remembered as one of the historic day in Greater NEPAL campaign.
